Common Signs and Symptoms
What are the symptoms of a yeast infection?
Symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection in women may be mild or very uncomfort-
able. The most frequent symptoms may include:
Vaginal itching (especially bad at night)
Pain usually noticeable during urination and intercourse
Vaginal discharge is usually described as looking like cottage cheese. It does       not have a bad odor
    Vaginal burning and redness

Symptoms of yeast infections can be similar to symptoms of other kinds of
vaginal infections. This sometimes results in women diagnosing and treating them-
selves with OTC medications. Surprisingly, more than half of the women who are
self-treating themselves don’t actually have a yeast infection.(2) Symptoms for
other vaginal infections (bacterial vaginosis or trichomonas infections) can be
similar to a yeast infection but these conditions are not treated with the same
medications.

It is important if you notice any symptom of a vaginal infection; see your doctor
for an accurate diagnosis and treatment.
